Classified memories: CIA to censor testimony in Gitmo trials

 

New documents reveal that the CIA has the authority to censor much of the details of Guantanamo Bay detainees’ treatment during their trials. The censorship guidelines allow the audio feed of testimony to the gallery be cut when details regarding the transfer, nature of detention, treatment or alleged torture of detainees’ are discussed. Attorney for Gitmo detainee Ammar Al Baluchi, James Connell, joins RT America’s Anya Parampil and says, “[the censorship guidelines are] so broad, anything a detainee said at Guantanamo Bay could be classified.”
