U.S. ‘caught’ painting F-18s to match Russian jets used in Syria.
The U.S. is using “Russian fighter jets” as a potential enemy in war games. American F-18s are being painted to look like Russia’s SU-34, with pilots using “enemy” tactics. It’s called the “Aggressors squadron” and was established in 1972 after the U.S. Air Force failed in the Vietnam War. Planes similar to the Soviet MiG-21 were used and painted accordingly. The Aggressors Squadron is now used in annual “Red Flag” exercises where U.S. and NATO allies learn to fight “potential threats”.
